party time
This thread will walk you through creating a festival, story event, or some other special occurrence on the site. This is the same way staff create these, though we do have a bunch of hidden stuff to work with!
Check the FESTIVAL CALENDER to see what days are already taken.
introduction
Both festivals and events must have a few mandatory pieces of information to help fit it into Reset and the other already established parts of the site.
Festivals are a special day or days celebrating something. ICly they may last one afternoon, but OOCly you may have up to a week to post and participate in it. Festivals may be reoccurring yearly events.
Events are one off... well, events. This could be something such as a typhoon week, having a dragon rampage through the town, or maybe your character gets lost in a dungeon and a major rescue has to be mounted.
what you can make
New Festivals: these may be bringing over previous Harvest Moon or Rune Factory, or making completely new ones.
Site Events: these events are site wide and can have a lasting impact on the world at large
Town Events: these are events that may involve the whole of Selphia. It may be something as benign as a traveling performance troupe stopping by, or something large like a sudden monster gate and demons spawning.
Environment Events: this is the typhoon type of event! Usually linked to a boss type monster appearing.
Personal Story Event: this is the one for having a character killed, being turned into a half-monster, or something else you think would need staff involvement or help.

Description: this part may give a description of the item, note where it drops or how to obtain it, and expand on the forge and extra effects. common terms
You will be seeing a few term and words thrown about when describing OOC related items. Here's a quick reference on some of them. If you have any questions, or want some help, feel free to PM a staff member or make a thread over in the QUESTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS board.
When adding this item to an existing item...
+X Skill Levels: you gain an extra X skill levels to the crafting skill

+Ailment: this weapon has a chance to cause the ailment. There is currently no hard system for deciding when this happens, it is up to you ICly
++Ailment: this weapon will always cause the ailment when it hits. Does not work against certain monsters, bosses, and events.
Null Ailment: you can not receive this ailment from any source while this item is equipped
Lifesteal: just like the idea of HP, we do not use a hard nuber system for lifesteal. It is merely an indication that ICly hitting an opponent with this weapon will give some health back to the user

layout for staff posts for dungeons maybe??? Is it possible to have the map square automatically resize an image, be a link so that when you click it opens up to the full view? coding is basically magic to me. Otherwise we can just break up dungeons maps into their room/area sections anyway also disclaiming about sizes not being exact because I have zero sense of size
