RAWR
This thread will cover the background information and origin of half-monsters.
Most of the information here will be mostly known by the half-monster circle only. But of course, since half-monsters are from nearly all the races their information tends to get out into the open. They try not to share too much out of fear of rejection.

TIME
Thanks to their monster halves or racial halves, half-monsters tend to have a messed up sense of time when it comes to aging.
Many monsters such as the fey or dragons will greatly increases ones life span - assuming they do not turn feral or have other complications with their rune balance.
Those with spirit monster halves will often live a third longer than a normal human or even longer depending on how strong their monster half is. They have to be careful of losing their physical form and completely shifting into a spirit, though it takes many years to finally lose their mortal mind when this happens.
For long lived races such as elves, if their monster half doesn't live nearly as long as they do then they will end up aging faster. The disconnect between their elven culture and monster instincts cause great stress, also contributing to their visible aging.

FERALS
There are certain events that cause half-monsters to lose their humanity in bouts of rage and bestial instinct. These can be caused by emotions such as stress or excitement, certain physiological changes such as illness or pregnancy, or the presence of corrupted runes. One thing is for certain: the cause is always do to a disruption in the runes of their bodies.
There are also some races that cannot be half-monsters such as the Merfolk. Thanks to the Merfolk's large abundance of runes already existing within their bodies, and their ability to change their lower halves, altering them into a half-monster would result in a full monster deprived of sanity and sentience.
The same applies for earthmates, since they too are very sensitive to the runes both within and around them. Forcing them to take on extra runes or being manipulated by them would end in a very painful situation which could end up with another full monster to take care of.
There has been cases of a Divine Dragon interfering to save an earthmate from losing themselves to becoming a feral half-monster - or the other way around, blessing an out of control half-monster to become an earthmate! Do not depend on the kindness of dragons however, for their interference comes at great cost for both the Divine Dragon and the earthmate.
For normal half-monsters, recovering from a feral state is taxing both physically and magically. But it is possible - with help and perseverance.

MONSTER FORMS
Half-monsters possess a racial form such as a human, dwarf, or elf, but they also have the ability to transform into a monster at will. Most times when a half-monster family forms, their monster forms are usually same as each other. A silver wolf mother is much more likely give birth to a wolf pup instead of an insect or bird!
In monster form, half-monsters are able to listen and speak to full monsters. They are also able to still understand the common language, though most monster tongues aren't able to speak it or fluently speak it.
They cannot produce materials like a full monster. A wooly half-monster would not be able to grow its fur back quickly like a normal wooly if it got chopped off. Attempts to use half-monster wool have ended in the material dissipating in a sparkle of runes once the half-monster switches forms.
It is known that half-monsters' monster forms relate to their racial form in some way. This could be things such as golden fur for blond hair, or hazel eyes in a palm cat when they normally have blue.

BLOODLINES
While this may not seem like its important, knowing a half-monster's family tree will help in understanding what they have gone through, and what future generation may go through. Those who have children with a normal humanoid, or a half-monster of the same species or category have a fairly safe pattern to refer to. It is once you have pairs such as ones involving univer or earthmates, or dragons mixing with insects, that things can get unpredictable.
Thanks to this, the outcome can become drastic depending on who and what the mother is, if she ever transformed while pregnant, and if she's ever experienced any event involving large amounts of runes.
Normally there is a high chance that a child will be born as a half-monster no matter what they do, but their future could depend on the knowledge their parents have. Then there have been children who were born in a completely all half-monster family and still not be a half-monster. In reality it, all depends on luck!

PREJUDICE
For the most part, half-monsters are accepted as a whole by nearly every race, if not all. They are treated like normal people throughout Norad, despite their own fears of themselves. Not everyone outside Norad finds them so attractive however!
Half-monsters find themselves in a most hated spot by the Sechs Empire. Treated like pets, or game to hunt, they are forced into slavery and made into examples of 'enjoyment' for the privileged classes within the Sechs Empire. There have been events and stories of villages ransacks and forests burned just for the entertainment of capturing a rare half-monster. Half-monsters who aren't so rare end up being forced into a feral state and pitted against each other in a spartan-like coliseum.
